Functional Medicine Testing

Functional medicine is a holistic, comprehensive approach to disease prevention, health, and well-being. This alternative approach to Traditional Western medicine is individualized medicine focused on finding the root cause of the disease.

What does that mean, though? The functional medicine approach to health is like a detective investigating a crime scene, looking for clues to uncover how the crime was committed and who did it. Instead of looking for fingerprints or gun powder residue, practitioners of functional medicine look at a patient’s environment, lifestyle, and genetics.

On-Site Medical Care evaluates a patient’s environment, lifestyle, and genetics through an extensive questionnaire and a series of lab tests. We start with the Comprehensive Functional Medicine Lab Panel, an in-house blood test, and then depending on the patient recommend a Hormone Blood Draw, OAT, DUTCH, and Diurnal Cortisol testing.

Depending on your needs, we offer several different packages as well as a la carte pricing for our functional medicine services. Or you can join our DPC+ membership, which includes the Comprehensive Functional Medicine Lab Panel and three-hour consultation twice yearly.

Hormones impact your growth and development, control your mood, determine how you handle stress, and influence how your body breaks down food. Hormone testing is the best way to determine if your hormone levels are adversely affecting your health.
The DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) is a test that measures hormone levels and metabolism is urine. It’s considered a groundbreaking method that provides a more complete picture of a patient’s hormone status than traditional blood or saliva tests.
Organic Acids Test (OAT) is a simple and efficient way to assess several metabolic pathways providing insight into imbalances and nutrient needs. This OAT assesses 76 organic acids in a single, easy-to-collect urine sample, offering valuable insights for individuals facing complex chronic conditions.
A commonly used tool for assessing adrenal cortisol production is diurnal cortisol testing. This test is four saliva collections on a single day – typically done upon waking, before lunch, dinner, and before bed. The labs then report them on a 24-hour graph.
