Robert P. McCulloch Sr. established the city in 1963. He transformed an empty expanse of desert around Lake Havasu into a beautiful community framed by rugged cliffs, sparkling blue-green water, and azure skies. Today, Lake Havasu City is affectionately called the West Coast of Arizona.
The city is home to more than 56,000 people and boasts a thriving tourism industry that attracts almost one million annual visitors. Residents and visitors alike enjoy destinations like the famous London Bridge, lake, miniature lighthouses, and Bridgewater Channel. Lake Havasu is also one of the top-rated places to catch large and small-mouth bass and is renowned as a striped bass fishery.
